Shortly after the start of the war, the Night Prophet Etosh died in battle. It was necessary to choose a successor, and there were two contenders - Buccarthy and Kieran. Both young, both ambitious... and equal in strength. The High Priest Memaer reasoned this way: let the young mystics fight the shadow of Etosh. Whoever defeats him will become the new Prophet.
