Guardian of the Arch

So, listen. A week ago, a mysterious arch appeared in the northwest of Merak. The vortices of energy indicated to the magicians that it should serve as a portal to other lands... or another dimension. As we got closer, we saw the terrible guardian of the arch: a huge lizard of demonic appearance. Overcoming the trembling, I ordered the warriors to attack. We have never met with such power before. The demon easily repelled our attacks and struck blow after blow. Here is one guard who fell with his throat slit... here is another staggered, holding his chest. We retreated.
