The Archaeologist's Request

Algol, the home of the titans, used to be as fertile as Dratan. The land was also rich in mineral deposits and energy wells. But the Gods blasted the land and poisoned what was left. I'm curious about the actual power that made Algol so infertile. I believe the Skeletons in Juno's Velpist Temple may hold the answer.
